HOW TO BECOME A MAP USER

The IECWMA – CIPM EWM mapping program is available to all appropriate EWM management personnel.  Note that the mapping program currently contains base maps only of the Kootenai, Benewah and Shoshone County area of Idaho.  To obtain the access password contact Nina Eckberg at 208-446-1293 or e-mail at neckberg@kcgov.us or Dave Lamb at 208-686-6206 or e-mail dlamb@cdatribe-nsn.gov

COORDINATE SYSTEM FOR MAPPING PROGRAM

IECWMA – CIPM mapping component can accept GPS data only in the NAD 1983 UTM (Zone 11N) format.  However, if field GPS data are collected in other formats (for example Latitude and Longitude in degrees, minutes and seconds, in decimal degrees or in decimal minutes) there are two coordinate converters available linked to the map page.  The two converters are "Chuck Taylor" which can convert only decimal degrees (example latitude - 37.379, longitude - 112.061) to UTMs, and Jeeep.com” which can convert decimal degrees, minute degrees (example latitude - 37º22.74, longitude - 122º3.66) or degrees, minutes, seconds (example latitude - 37º45’32’’ North, longitude - 112º29’15’’ West) to UTMs.
